Brendan Madigan, owner of 39-year-old specialty retailer Alpenglow Sports, is back at it with the second season of his Afterglow podcast initiative. Season two of Afterglow features intimate conversations with iconic mountain personalities including JT Holmes, Emily Harrington, Stephan Drake, Kim Havell, Chris Burkard, Adrian Ballinger and Barry Blanchard.
Afterglow, a Mountain Storytelling Podcast, travels deep into the mind, heart and soul of world-renowned adventure athletes. The second season is an eight-part series with weekly episodes that provide insights into the minds of some of the greatest athletes in adventure sports. Episode one features extreme ski mountaineer and North Face athlete Hilaree Nelson (formerly O’Neill) on Friday, October 26, 2018. Additional weekly conversations are set to be released each Friday through the fall of 2018.
“My life’s goal has always been to build something of lasting value in the North Lake Tahoe community,” according to Madigan. “Alpenglow Sports does this many ways, but in large part through our free Winter Speaker Series, which features the biggest names in adventure sports. However, these larger than life characters aren’t just athletes, they are storytellers. I felt strongly that Afterglow would allow a personal connection with each speaker that might allow our audience to learn from and be inspired by.”
Afterglow is a series of organic, long-form and intimate conversations that reveal the possibilities, motivations and inspirations of iconic mountain athletes. Every conversation digs deep in the attempt to learn universal truths from the experiences of these athletes including who we are, why we are here and how these answers offer a pathway for the sharing of experiences, emotion and vulnerabilities.
“For years I’ve wanted to make the aspirational lessons from the Winter Speaker Series available to a wider audience. Afterglow is our attempt to do this and hopefully make the world a better place by sharing these fantastic tales of personal growth through adventure,” added Madigan.
Afterglow is entirely free and available on iTunes, Soundcloud, Stitcher, Google Play and more. Please send questions and any interview inquiries to email@example.com.
